About Us

Wheekful Blessings Guinea Pig Sanctuary was created from a simple belief: every guinea pig deserves to feel safe, loved, and valued, regardless of their age, health, disability, or past.

We are a small, guinea pig-only lifetime sanctuary dedicated to providing permanent homes for guinea pigs who need specialized care or who may have difficulty finding placement elsewhere. Some of our residents are seniors, some live with chronic medical needs or disabilities, and others come to us after neglect or circumstances that have left them needing a little more understanding and care.

Unlike a traditional rescue, our residents aren't waiting to be adopted. They are home. When a guinea pig becomes part of Wheekful Blessings, they become part of our family. We provide lifelong care, veterinary support, companionship, and a safe environment where they can simply be guinea pigs.

The People Behind the Wheeks

Wheekful Blessings is a small, family-run sanctuary founded by Brooke and Gabriel, two people who have a rather obvious soft spot for animals that squeak, Poop a lot, and somehow manage to take over an entire household.

What started with a love for guinea pigs gradually grew into something much bigger. Over time, we found ourselves caring for guinea pigs with medical needs, disabilities, and complicated histories animals who needed more than a temporary place to stay. We realized that these were the animals we wanted to dedicate our time and resources to helping.

For us, sanctuary isn't about having the biggest number of animals or taking in every animal who needs help. It's about knowing the animals in our care personally, understanding their individual needs, and making sure each one receives the quality of life they deserve.

We share our home with our sanctuary residents, which means there is never really a "day off" from being guinea pig parents. There are vegetables to prepare, hay to refill, cages to clean, medications to give, nail trims to survive, and of course plenty of wheeks demanding attention.

But above all, we believe these little lives matter.

Our goal is not simply to keep guinea pigs alive. It's to give them a life worth living.

Whether a resident has years ahead of them or only a short time, we want their time with us to be filled with comfort, safety, enrichment, good food, excellent veterinary care, and an enormous amount of love.
